For the third time, Tequila Ocho and Ferrand Cognac their paths unite to create an expression that celebrates the encounter between two great producing regions of the world: the red soil of Los Altos de Jalisco and the chalky soils of Cognac, France.
Made exclusively with overripe agaves from Rancho Las Raíces, this tequila was distilled with the purpose of preserving the identity of the terroir and subsequently rested for a full year in barrels that previously held Ferrand Cognac, following a journey of more than 8,800 kilometers to arrive in Arandas, Jalisco.
The result is a Añejo Barrel Select of extraordinary complexity, where the influence of the barrel accompanies the agave without overshadowing its origin.
On the nose, aromas of ripe cherry, cinnamon, and cajeta slowly unfold, accompanied by delicate notes of fresh herbs and damp earth that evoke the landscape from which it originates.
On the palate, the cooked agave remains the protagonist, enveloped by notes of salted caramel, ginger, and subtle roasted coffee. The finish leaves an elegant trace of fresh wood that adds depth and persistence.
