This ranch is located 1.3km away in a straight line from the Los Alambiques Distillery, home of Tequila Ocho, next to the neighborhood with the same name, bordering the urban area of Arandas, Jalisco. It takes its name from the presence of a single tree of the fruit known as white sapote (Casimiroa edulis), which was used as a pre-Hispanic medicine for blood pressure, anxiety and lack of sleep.
The land is a hillside with a southerly slope; its average altitude is 2,058m. This field, completely exposed to the sun, was used for decades exclusively for grazing dairy cattle, being this the first and only occasion in which agave was planted and harvested there, as it is already in an inhabited area subject to the urban development plan of Arandas.
