The new edition of Puntas will be the first to be available worldwide and the first to incorporate agave from Los Altos grown in both Jalisco and Michoacán, expanding Tequila Ocho’s exploration of the influence of the terroir.
This edition represents the first release of Puntas in two years, the first time this expression will be available worldwide and the first edition of Puntas belonging to the Terroir Select harvests of Ocho, made with agave from the same region but from different fields.
The Puntas, also known as the master distiller’s cut, represent a particularly appreciated point in distillation. They are obtained through a very selective cut that encompasses the end of the heads and the beginning of the heart of the distillate (what we would call the “shoulders” of distillation).
It is not just a “high proof”. Unlike other high-proof tequilas available on the market, which use only the heart of the distillation process, Puntas stands out for coming from this exceptionally precise selection.
